“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”

Cozy Winter Snow

Recently, my town received a couple inches of snow. I was glad because my afternoon and night classes got cancelled (yay!). The other plus side to this snow was that no shoveling was needed! It’s always great when you get to take an unexpected day off and relax at home. I decided to take advantage of this newly available time by venturing out into the ten degree weather to take some snowy pictures. This adventure lasted a total of fifteen-twenty minutes because my hands started to freeze up and snow was getting all over my camera. But in the end, I did capture some precious moments of my adorable pup, Elby. My friend also stopped by for a little while and took a frosty picture of me out in the snow. The night ended with me and my friend watching the second half of White Chicks  while sipping on some yummy tea along with munching on snacks.

GALentine’s Day

Hello everyone! 🙂

Today I wanted to share a little glimpse of my Galentine Brunch and Valentine’s Day! For those of you who don’t know what Galentine’s Day is (it’s ok I didn’t know at first either), it is a time where the “gals” get together either on or around Valentine’s Day. Me and my friend, Karissa, decided we wanted to have a Galentine’s Brunch with some of our besties. We knew that for some girls, Valentine’s Day is sort of a downer and we wanted to lift spirits by getting all the girls together! We gave out invitations two weeks ahead of time and told everyone to meet at Panera (because who doesn’t love Panera, right?).

Well the night before the brunch, me and Karissa got together and stayed up until 1 am to bake these GORGEOUS cupcakes for everyone to enjoy at the brunch. Needless to say, they we’re delicious and a great photo opt.

The next day, all us girls met up at Panera, ate our food, exchanged gifts, mingled, and took this quick snapshot! It was a little hard to fit all 12 of us in one picture but we made it work.

I also decided to bring my polaroid camera to the event to get some cute pictures with my friends and use up some film that’s supposed to expire soon! My friend Hannah took the picture below and I thought it was super cute and summed up the whole Galentine experience (aka pink everything!)

I took another picture of the polaroid so that it could be seen better. We look a little ghostly but we’re still smiling 🙂

Karissa and I also snapped a cute pic with our cupcakes! Absolutely love this sweet girl!

Once I got home after the Galentine Brunch, I was surprised with a sweet gift and card from my parents. They went away for the night this Valentine’s Day and it was extremely thoughtful of them to leave behind something so sweet.

To end such a perfect day, my adorable boyfriend came over and we tested our cooking skills by whipping up some homemade fondue because who needs the Melting Pot? It was absolutely delicious and it was nice to spend some quality time cooking together and pigging out on fondue.

I hope you all had an amazing Valentine’s Day, no matter who you spent it with!
